About Maritana
Maritana is a share block company that owns the block of 40 flats situated at 180 Beach Road, Strand. The company was formed in 1962 and the building erected shortly thereafter.
It is situated across the road from one of the most beautiful stretches of beach on False Bay. The majority of the flats have a view of Table Mountain, Helderberg Mountains and False Bay.
The shareholders annually review and approve a 10 year plan covering all aspects of long term maintenance and upgrades to the building to ensure it is kept in the best possible condition. Several shareholders have owned their shares for many years and have seen their children and grand children enjoy the beach over the years.
One of the occupants have enjoyed the block so much, that she has
been in her flat for 46 years!
